Kalpa - Highest Peak of Himachal Pradesh




Kalpa is the attractive destination of 
Himachal Pradesh popular for wonderful hills and beautiful scenery. It is a town that relaxes the visitors with cool climate. Kalpa town is having countless tourist destinations. The surrounding area is also covered with hills that means voyagers are getting complete hilly areas to enjoy their vacations. However, Kalpa is turned as most demanding peak among other nearby hills. People are using this town as base to visit other locations of the state.

Sangla Valley: a green valley of Kalpa is one more location for visitors. Bapsa River is flowing from this region and the altitude of valley is 8900 feet from the sea level. Some amazing spots in this region are Kilba, Sapni, Kamru Fort, Rackchham, etc.

Reaching Kalpa is little difficult task but if you are reaching from Chandigarh then you have to cover the distance of 291 kms. However, if your route is from New Delhi then it is 557 kms away, if Kufri then 164 kms away, if Shimla than 178 kms far and if Kasauli then you have to travel for 246 kms distance. 

Journey towards Kalpa is little difficult because of high hills surrounding. There is no specific railway station and airport in Kalpa. Road is the only best method to reach Kalpa and private taxis are available from nearest big spots of the town. 

By Air: closest air base for Kalpa is Shimla connected with many cities of India. Direct domestic flights are available for Shimla from New DelhiBangaloreChennaiHyderabadKullu and many other cities. 

By Bus: reaching Kalpa by road is finest method and frequent bus services are available from Shimla. Bus service is available from Kullu as well. State transport is having better service from various parts of the state for Kalpa.

Majuli - Largest River Island of India




A small island of Assam known as Majuli is our next Indian tourist place. The other name of this island town is Majoli popular as one of the largest river islands of India. It is located on Brahmaputra river the big and every flowing heavy river of India. If we go through the list of largest rivers islands of the world then Majuli stands on 24th position. It was spread in area of 1250 sq kms that is equal to 483 sq meters. However, the area of Majuli was reduced to 421.65 sq kms because of erosion occurred in 2001. 



Formation of this island was done by the Brahmaputra River, though its north part is connected with Subansiri River. To access Majuli island people can get the ferries from Jorhat City. This island is 200 kms far from largest city Guwahati. 

Majuli is popular for breathtaking scenic beauty. Here in this island there are two villages known as Kamalabari that is located at only gap of 3km and Garamur situated at 5km distance in north. Kamalabari is impressive village having monks and a small museum of Ahom artifact. Ras Mahotsav is the festival that visitors must attend.



Majuli town is popular for bird watching because more than 100 birds are reaching this island at regular intervals. You can get the info related to Majuli at Tourism Centre. Bird watching events are conducted by Jyoti Narayan Sarma in Majuli tourism office. 

Attraction of Majuli: 
Garmur: initial place to attain in Majuli is Garmur popular as holy place. Some more places to visit in Garmur area are Auniati, Kamlabari and Daksinpath. 


Kamalabari Satra: next spot for visitors in Majuli is Kamalabari Satra known for sightseeing attractions. This river side island was founded by Bedulapadma Ata. This center is famous for art, literature, culture and studies. 


Chetiagaon: another spot of Majuli is Chetiagaon comes under Assam region. This place is covered by Dhapaliagaon, Gogamukh Bordoloni and Dhakuakhana. Famous river of north east known as Subansiri River is flowing from this area. 


Auniati Satra: voyagers can attain to Auniati Satra if they want to enjoy the Apsara and Paalnaam Dance. If you are the good collector of jewels, utensils and handicrafts then you can reach Auniati Satra.  Founder of this center was Niranjan Pathakdeva who was having a wide collection of Assamese products.

Raja Maidam: a spot identified as Raja Maidam is next destination for you. It is the vault of Ruler Purandar Sinha. The reason behind construction of this monument was a tribute to ruler died on 1st Oct, 1894. To reach Maidam people have to travel to area of Tocklai River. 

Bengenaati Satra: don’t miss to reach Bengenaati Satra that is a popular place housing huge collection of antiques related to cultural significance of the village. Established by Muraridev who was the grandson of Shankara Deva's step-mother. 

Bangalpukhari: a monument known as Bangalpukhari is another key attraction of Majuli. However, reaching such spot is possible if voyagers will travel towards southern area of Jorhat city. Construction of historic tank was done in 1739 after the murder of Badan Barphukan.

Attaining to Majuli: 
By Road: if you reach to Jorhat close to Guwahati you can get the ferry for Majuli. Assam State Transport is having buses for Jorhat from Guwahati. Private buses are also available that reaches in morning. However evening buses are available too from Jorhat. If you get the bus in moonlit night then your trip is going to be memorable forever. The distance will be covered in 6½ hours by bus. 

By Train: closest railway station for Majuli is again Jorhat. Train for Jorhat is available from Guwahati and some parts of the state Assam. 

By Air: nearest airbase for Majuli is Jorhat. Frequent flights are available for Jorhat from Kolkata and Guwahati.

By Ferry: best way to reach Majuli is boat or ferry ride. Frequent govt. ferries are available towards Majuli in the morning, afternoon and evening. 

When to attain Majuli: best time to visit Majuli is between October-March. This is the festival period of village when different types of dance events, music programs and dramas are organized. Try to reach Majuli at the time of Krishna Janmastami, Raas Leela and Ram Leela.

Thiruchendur - Beach Place of Tamil Nadu


Religious people always look for the areas where they can get the mental peace. Thiruchendur is the holy town blessed by God Muruga. This place is situated in Toothukudi region, Tamil Nadu, India. According to Hindu myth it is the prime religious place for pilgrims. This shrine is constructed near beach of Thiruchendur popular for backdrop as well. Lord Muruga is also known as Senthil Aandavar. Two other major shrines of Thiruchendur are Deivayanai and Valli. 


Thiruchendur town is not much developed but the natural scenery of the town is best among all. The dry theri forests are famous for plantation of cashew. The thick Palm trees and other steamy trees are also famous of the town. 


People believe the reason behind red soil of town is killing of the thief ordered by native God named as Karkkuuvel Ayyanar. Sources say Vanniaraja was the man to kill of Ayyanar and he was killing the people of the village who try to steal the land of villagers. Because of such story this place is completely safe from any kind of theft. 

This town is growing but due to slow growth ratio there are limited shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and some high sky structural areas.

Prime Attraction of Thiruchendur: 
Panchalamkurichi Fort: this is the first place to visit known as Kattabomman Memorial Fort. The fort is constructed near to Thiruchendur. Sources say the fort was constructed under the supervision of famous Panchalamkurishi Ruler Veera Kattabomman and the year was of 18th era.


Thiruchendur Murugan Kovil: a holy place devoted to God Muruga is next spot for visitors. The shrine is famous for huge 9 rows Gopuram. The idol of Thiruchendur Murugan is placed in the temple. Some other temples in the area are Senthilandavarand or Arumuga Nayinar, Shanmugar. The idols of Lord Shiva and Vishnu are placed in these temples.

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam - A Dam Site of Andhra Pradesh



Krishna is the ever flowing river of India and dams constructed on this river are always full of water. Reaching places where the dam is constructed could be different experience for the visitors. Nagarjuna Sagar is the popular destination close to Hyderabad City, Andhra Pradesh. The reason behind construction of Nagarjuna Sagar Dam was storing water of Krishna River and controlling the high flow because earlier lots of villages got drown because of Krishna River. 



The area where dam is constructed is known as Nadikonda Village. The other name of such location is Hill Colony. Its listed as biggest man made reservoir of the world. Chennakesava Swamy Temple (Macherla): a temple located close to Chandra Vanka is next spot in Nagarjuna Sagar Area. This place comes in Guntur region and elevation is 136 meters. This temple was constructed during the ruling period of Haihaya Kings. This ancient shrine was made in 13thAD.

NWS (Nagarjunasagar Wildlife Sanctuary): to reach NWS you have to attain to Srisailam another big tourism spot of Andhra Pradesh. NWS is also recognized as NSS (Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Sanctuary).

Yamunotri - Religious Hill Station of Uttarakhand




India a delighted country is my favorite destination. Tourism in India is always special as there are countless heaven areas where people can spend their holidays. The amazing hill areas, landscapes, valleys, dense forest and many other things makes the India first destination for the visitors. I know the world is full of wonderful places, though the spots of India are not compared to even the best locations of world. Loads of languages, their tradition and the culture of India make it special country. In this short note we are going to discuss about one of the ranges of Himalaya known as Yamunotri. It’s a religious place of India, but full of natural beauty and high hills. Yamunotri is the place I never visited but I want to reach this place once in my life. 



Yamunotri is kind of place that is equal to heaven because it is on the peak of Himalaya hills. It looks like sky is touching the earth at the peak of Himalayas. You are definitely going to miss this place all the time if you will not visit. Yamunotri is located in Garhwal region in Himalaya ranges. Yamunotri city is located under popular state of India “Uttarakhand”. This hill place is full of attraction and allure. Altitude of Yamunotri is 3293 mts from the sea level lies close to India China border. I refer this place as holiest center of India because the famous Yamuna river origins from this place. According to Hindu pantheon is having countless unparallel panoramas of scenery. 



The glacier of Yamunotri is origin of river Yamuna. The thermal springs of Yamunotri are special. As per Hindu culture Yama is the brother of Yamuna and Yama is the divinity of death. Thrilling ranges of hills in this region are able to take your breath away. Major spots of this place are green valleys and dense forest areas. 

However, some of the best places of Yamunotri are described below:

Sapta Rishi Kund: A pond that is popular for enthralling is first destination for visitors in Yamunotri. Sapta Rishi Kund is the place from where the River Yamuna begins his journey. This lake is located at the highest peak of 4421 meters from the sea level. The scenic areas are not easily reachable in the region because maximum spots are covered snow and trying for trekking in these hills could be dangerous. However, Sapta Rishi kund is easily reachable because local administration is having direct road for the spot from lower area of the hills. This spot is only 10 kms away from Yamunotri City Center. 



Surya Kund: another lake that is famous for cooking the rice directly on the water. It’s a kind of hot lake where the water is always hot in every season. People believe Surya is the father of Yamuna and he is giving power of boiling to the lake. The average temperature of lake is 1900 F so cooking in such pond is possible. 



Divya Shila: Next location for you in Yamunotri is Divya Shila that is the powerful pillar of rock. Reach Surya Kund as Divya Shila is located close to Suyra kund. Attaining to this place will give you ethereal feelings. 



Yamunotri Temple: a holy spot is our next destination that is perched at 3030 mts altitude from the sea level. Temple is constrcuted on Kalind Mountain and flowing River Yamuna is special thing to watch here. Yamunotri temple is listed in char dham yatra conducted by the Hindus every year. 



Trekking: maximum locations of Yamunotri are dangerous but there are certain areas where you can do trekking and can enjoy the adventurous events. Ardous road is one of them allowing you for trekking. Nature lovers always visit this place for adventure and elevation is 3030 mts. 

Badkot: a view of natural valleys is possible from Badkot that is also known as Bandarpoonch. This place is 49 kms distant from Yamunotri central part. The ancient temples of Badkot are world famous. This holy place is offering divine atmosphere to the visitors. 



Hanuman Chatti: flow of Yamuna river is very high and you can view or can swim in Hanuman Chatti. It is the thrilling hill located at only distance of 13 kms from Yamunotri. Here two rivers Yamuna and Ganga meet and flow downwards. The scenery of such area is amazing that you are never going to forget the location. 



Janki Chatti: another most exciting spot for voyagers is Janki Chatti. It’s again hot water spring place located at 3 km gap from Yamunotri.

We all know that train is the best media of transport in India. If you are reaching Yamunotri from Chandigarh then you have to travel for 394 kms distance, though Delhi is 419 km away, Shimla is 509 km far, Nagpur is 1470 km far and Mumbai is 1795 km distant. 

By Train: the big and closest railway station to reach Yamunotri is Dehradun connected to almost ever part of the nation. Direct trains for Dehradun are available from Haridwar, Moradabad, Ambala Cant, ChandigarhDelhiChennai and many big cities. 

By Air: International customers can reach to Delhi for Yamunotri visit. However, Delhi is far from Yamunotri but frequent flights are available from big nations to Delhi. Amarkantak - A Worship Place of Madhya Pradesh




A majestic place of Madhya Pradesh is our next tourist destination. Amarkantak is the small city situated in the middle area of superb ranges Satpura and Vindhya. Word Amarkantak comes from Sanskrit language that is related to mythological meaning. Because of religious values this place is also known as Theertha Raja (King of Holy destinations). The Narmada River is having holy values for Indians.  It’s a land of great history holding story of diverse empires. Pandavas also ruled this place for short period.

Temples: the great temples close to Narmada River are best place to visit in Amarkantak. Narmada River is having areas for swim and the open pond is recognized as Narmada Kund. Countless temples are located close to the pond of Narmada such Shiva temple, Ram-Sita temple, Kartikey temple, Annapurna temple, Shurya Narayan temple, Gorakhnath temple, Durga temple, Vangeshwar Mahadev, Shiv Pariwar, Radha-Krishna temple, Siddheswar Mahadev temple, 11 Rudra temple and some more.



Narmada Kund: once you reach this area you can enjoy the swimming in pond and can attain to take blessings of Hindu Gods in ancient temples. Maximum shrines are made of Kalachuri period. However, you have to go to southern area of Narmada Kund to reach Kalachuri temples. Such shrines are constructed by King of Kalachuri Mr. Karna Deva. Sources say the shrine was constructed in the mid of 1042 to 1072 AD. You must visit the Machhendra Nath temple and Pataleshwar shrine located in this area. Keshav Narayan shrine is also the one that visitor must not miss. It was constructed by the ruler of Nagpur City known as Bhonsle.



Sone Muda: a place that is origin of Sone River is next spot for you. However, the river is just 1.5 kms away from Narmada Kund. The starting point of river is from Maikal Hill. A best waterfall in this area is more than hundred feet long. A forest and the hill view from such spot is definitely going to take your breath away. 



Mai ki Bagiya: a spot known as Goddess Garden (Mai Ki Bagiya) is one more location for you in Amarkantak. The think jungle spread in kms is just 1 km away from Narmada Kund.  "Mai ki Bagiya" is devoted to deity Narmada. This natural garden is having countless trees of banana, mango, and other fruits. Roses and jungle flowers spread a sweet smell in the region so of course you are going to love this area. 



Kapildhara: a place also known as Kapil waterfall is next place to visit in Amarkantak. This waterfall is located at 6 km distance in northwest direction of Narmada Kund. The place is named after Kapil Muni. Kapildhara is full of natural scenery and hills with dense jungle. 



Kabir Chabutra: a circle popular on the name of Kabir the famous saint is another spot for travelers. Sources say Kabir spend many years in Amarkantak for medication. Chabutara is listed in the holiest locations for fans of the Kabir. 



Shri Jaleshwar Temple: a shrine of lord Shiva is next place for you. People believe Juhila River is originated from 8 kms Amarkantak. According to epics Lord Shiva founded the Shivaling in this temple so the devotee from Hindu religion is having huge values for this place. 



Jain Temple: a location known as Shri Sarvodaya Jain Temple is another holy place popular for Jain community. It is similar to Aksharadhama temple located in Gujarat. This shrine is made of approximate Rs. 20 crore and the temle is spread in 4 acres land. Around 300 workers did construction of this temple in two years. The chief architect of temple was C. B. Somapura. This shrine is positioned at hill station, though voyagers can enjoy the view of heavy flowing river Narmada from this point. 



Shri Kalyan Seva Trust: a trust used for the accommodation by the devotees is next spot to attain in Amarkantak. It is an Ashram of Shri Tapaswi Baba Kalyan Das Maharaj. According to sources Acharya Chandra Dev was the elder son of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.



Gurudwara: Religious spot of Sikhs community is other location for you. Here Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited for short period hence this place is having huge religious values for Indians.

By Air: closest airport to reach Amarkantak is Jabalpur located at only distance of 228 kms. However, Raipur is also next big domestic airport having direct flights from Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur and some more cities. You have to travel for 230 kms distance to reach Amarkantak from Raipur. 

By Rail: closest railway station for such place is Pendra Road and the gap is only 42 kms from Pendra to Amarkantak. Pendra is the place comes between Katni to Bilaspur cities and South-East Railway is having trains for Pendra Road from various cities. 

By Road: MP roadway’s is having buses for Amarkantak from several cities. Road is properly managed by state administration and buses from Shahdol, Jabalpur, Umaria, Rewa, Anuppur, Bilaspur and Pendra Road are available in frequent level.
