Ajaigarh - Historical City of Madhya Pradesh

This place was a capital of a princely state with the same name during the rule of the British Raj.  In 1765, Ajaigarh was founded by Guman Singh, Abundela Raiput, a nephew of Raja Pahar who is a Singh of Jaitpur. He was captured in 1809 by the British and it became the princely state in the Bundelkhand Agency of the Central India Agency. 



Ajaigarh had an area of 771 miles (1997 kilometers) with the population of around 78,236 in 1901.  Their rulers were given the title Sawai Maharaja who commanded with estimated annual revenue of around £15,000.  At the foot of the hill-fortress of Ajaigarh, the chief stayed in the town called Nowgong from which the state took its name.  



​At this Indian Tourist Place, there is a fort that is situated on a steep hill and it stands more than 800 feet (244 meters) above the township and it has the ruins of several adorned temples with sculptures that are carved elaborately.  During the year 1868 to 1869 and 1896 to 1895, the town is always afflicted by malaria and most of the people suffered severe famine.  

On January 1, 1950, the state acceded to the Government of India, where the ruling chief was granted a privy purse of Rs 74700 and the courtesy use of titles and his own styles.  But on 1971, all of these were revoked by the Government of India.  They used to-be princely state became part of the Indian state of Vindhya Pradesh.  Most of the territory of the former state, including Ajaigarh, it became part of the Panna District, where smaller portion goes to the Chhatapur District.  It was on November 1, 1956 when Vindhya Pradesh was combined to Madhya Pradesh.  



Attractions:
Forts of Ajaigarh – if you and your family want to visit this Indian tourism spot and spend a royally short vacation, you can come here in Ajaigarh to see the divine temples as well as the kingly mansions.  The Ajaigarh fort shows the engineering skills of the Chandela rulers.  On the mighty Vindhaya range, you will see a structure that is 1110 meters tall and it was mainly built to protect the territory from the attack of the enemies. 



​Panna – This is another Indian Tourist place near Ajaigarh where one would experience wildlife and jungle. This small city is famous for its tiger reserve, which is spread over an area of 543 square km and diamond mines. Panna is located at Vindhyachal Ranges with an average elevation of 433 meters.  It is not visited not only for its National wild life reserves, but also for the shrines and monuments.  Other places of interest in Panna are the Mahamati Prannathji Temple, Kalinjar Fort, Pandav caves and the Panna National Park.  It is also considered a significant pilgrim site for the Pranami sect followers around the world.



Chitrakoot – this is also called Hill of Many Wonders.  It is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh as it covers the distance of 62 kilometers from East to West and 57.5 kilometers from North to South.  

​The residents of Chitrakoot speak mainly in Bundeli and Hindi.  As a holy destination, they only serve vegetarian dishes at this place.  This place is very popular for pakode, dum Bhindi, Gobi musallam, and sultani dal.  You can also find some sweet specialties at this place like petha, peda, rewri and gazak. There are several festivals and fairs being organized at this place like Dipawali, Navaratri,, Ramayana Mela, Ramnavami, Vijayadashami, Amavasya Fair and Shrawan Jhoola Mela.



Weather Conditions:
​It is the best time to travel Ajaigarh is during the months of December to March.  The temperature is around 14C with 36% of humidity and the wind coming from the East at 6kph.

If you plan to visit Ajaigarh, you can stay in any hotels located at Khajuraho and Panna with the price range of Rs800 to Rs20, 500.  

How to reach Ajaigarh?
By Air: If you travel by plane, the nearest airport is Khajuraho which is around 45 kilometers from Ajaigarh.  There are flights to major cities in the neighboring states.  

By Train: There are two major railway hubs, which are Khajuraho and Attara.  It is about 45 kms and 60 kms respectively to Ajaigarh.  

​By Bus: If you visit Ajaigarh via bus, it is about 25 kilometers from Panna.

Neemuch - Beautiful Small City of Madhya Pradesh




Today our target is small city of Madhya Pradesh named as Neemuch. This town of Malwa region is having two different spellings such as Neemuch and Nimach. This Indian tourist place is having limited spots for voyagers, but the hospitality and clam environment is enough to give mental peace to voyagers. Nimach is bordering the state Rajasthan so we can say it is kind of place where you will see two different cultures of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.


 
Talking about Nimach its abbreviation is North Indian Mounted Artillery and Cavalry Headquarters. In early face of city it was the largest British cantonment of Gwalior ruling state. In 1822 the city becomes headquarters of the Rajputana and Malwa agencies. In 1895, Nimach was completely under Malwa region.
 
If you go through historical background of city you will find that it is the birth place of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force). This contentment of British Empire was declared as police regimental of India in 1939. Since today the city is holding largest recruit training center of CRPF. The architecture of maximum part of city is similar to British structural designs.

 
In ancient period Nimach was part of Ajmer region. However, it was gifted to the Scindia’s in 1768. You might hear about the freedom fight of India occurred in 1857. Neemuch played the important role in that battle when Malwa and Gwalior rulers fight against British.
 
The history behind its name is special as well. Local people believe the city is named Neemuch because of countless Neem trees everywhere.

Sukhanand Ashram: The initial place to visit in town is Sukhanand temple of Lord Shiva. The word Sukhanand means peace and joy so you are definitely going to enjoy the place. Neemuch is famous for holy spots so you can visit Sambharkund Mahadev (located at 7 km distance from city) and Nava Toran temple at Khor. Few more impressive spots are Bhadwamata and Suwakheda. Harkiakhal Dam: A place located at only gap of 15 km distance available for you named as Harkiakhal Dam. It’s a small picnic spot but best in rainy or winter season.

Gandhi Sagar Dam: A big dam in this region is located at 100 km distance known as Gandhi Sagar. This place is all time favorite as many people reach this spot throughout the year. How to reach Neemuch?
By Rail: City is having own railway station connected to different cities of India. The broad gauge line from Ajmer allows you to reach destination easily. Ratlam is another closer big railway station to reach Neemuch. The station is having historical values as the Neemuch station was built by British rulers in 1880. Direct trains for Neemuch are available from Ratlam, Ujjain, Agra, Kota, Chittorgarh, Mandsaur and Bundi.
 
By Road: Madhya Pradesh Transport Corporation is having buses for Neemuch City from Ajmer, Chittorgarh and Ratlam. NH 79 is connected to city linking Udaipur city of Rajasthan through Chhoti Sadri. Mandsaur, Singoli, Manasa, Jaipur and some more cities are having direct buses for Neemuch.
 
By Air: Closest big airport to reach Neemuch is Jaipur. However, a domestic airport plan is to be implemented in Mandsaur district. Jaipur is having direct flights from Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and some more cities.

Ratlam - Holy City of Madhya Pradesh

Ratlam is a well-known city of Madhya Pradesh State, India. Today’s target for best Indian tourist place is Ratlam. It is a historical place like Ratnapuri located in north-west direction of Malwa district. The altitude of city is 1575 feet from the sea level. Ratlam region was originated in 1947 after independence of great country India. Few famous stuffs of the city are Ratlami Sev (eatable item), Gold, Sari and their hospitality.

Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan gifted the city Ratlam to Ratan Singh Rathore. Shah Jahan was passionate to watch elephant fights. Places for tourist in Ratlam:
Jhar: First place to visit in this city is Jhar town located at only gap of 12 km. This town is popular for waterfall that is major attraction for tourist in this region. Jhar word comes from Jharna (waterfall) so its best place especially in rainy season. The waterfall gets heavy flow in rainy season so it’s best time to visit the place.

Omkareshwar - Holy Place of Madhya Pradesh

Omkareshwar is the sacred Indian tourist place famous for Hindu temple devoted to Lord Shiva. Omkareshwar is named as 12 honored Jyotirlinga of God Shiva. This shrine is placed on an island known as Mandhata (also recognized as Shivapuri). The flowing River Narmada is having huge holy values for Hindus. Chhindwara



There are countless Indian tourist destinations that are not known to the world. However, these places are available with amazing holiday spots. Today we are going to discuss about the Indian tourist place Chhindwara. A wonder city of MP (Madhya Pradesh) is available for you located in Satpura range. It is basically a town full of lush green forest, rivers and trees known as sagaun. As the town is covered with dense forest and high hills near the town cools the temperature of the place. Experts list Chhindwara as coolest places of Madhya Pradesh particularly in hot weather season summer.

Attaining to Chhindwara:
By Flight: Nagpur is the closest airport to reach Chhindwara. However, limited flights are available for Nagpur as it is the small domestic airport of India. The airbase is named as Sonegaon Airport located in Nagpur City. The distance between spot and Nagpur is just 86 kms. Flights for Sonegoan are available from JabalpurDelhi and some more cities.

By Train: Chhindwara is the big junction connected to almost every big city of India through train. Closer other stations for town are Umaria Ispa and Ghadela.

By Bus: India is having one of the best road services for almost every small and big city. However, Chhindwara is having limited bus services but Seoni is properly connected to many cities of India. Seoni is another city of MP popular for agricultural lands.
